Interested in serving on the ELDA BOD but unsure if you are up to the task? 

Don’t worry about the commitment, it really is not that time consuming. There is an annual BOD meeting, usually on a Sunday afternoon in late March or April, and there are two general membership meetings, one in July and one in August. 

Attendance at these meetings is ideal of course, especially the BOD meeting. But everyone has busy schedules and it is totally understood when board members can’t attend a meeting in person. There is also occasional e-mail correspondence between board members throughout the year, as some issues can’t wait for the next meeting to be discussed. It is also expected that board members be willing to speak up when they have questions, since that is how issues are fully addressed. 

Finally, the most important requirement of board members is simply that they care about the entire ELDA community. It is truly a rewarding experience serving the ELDA community and contributing toward keeping Elk Lake the beautiful and enjoyable place that it is to all of us, so if you think you might be interested in serving, maybe start by talking to a current or past board member, but don’t be concerned that you won’t be able to handle the responsibilities!
